I remember 37 years ago how relieved our parents were when they found the Brookwood Community for Bill. It was such a loving and nurturing place that they felt this was where Bill would have a great life. That has certainly been the case.  One Christmas vacation Bill said he was ready to “go back home” and see what “the guys were doing”. When he said that, we knew that our hopes for Brookwood had been achieved.

Bill’s home at Brookwood is rich with loving friends, both citizens and staff. Bill enjoys visiting his family away from Brookwood, but frankly after a few days he is bored. He misses socializing with all the many friends he has among the other Brookwood citizens. The people who work and volunteer at Brookwood give him all the emotional, physical and spiritual support he wants and needs. Bill has purpose in his life through the work, religious and social activities that the wonderful Brookwood staff, family and volunteers provide on a daily basis. Brookwood is a joy and home for Bill. Bill needs Brookwood to remain strong financially so that it always will be there for him.

Brookwood gets no government funding and it needs to stay that way. Any donation you make will help cover Brookwood operating expenses. On behalf of Bill and his family, we thank you so very much for any support you can give the Brookwood Community.

"My uncle Bill has been at brookwood almost as long as I've been alive. He has loved being there, having a purpose and enjoying all his friends. My mom always supported his being there, as does my family. I know in my mom's passing this year, she would want us to continue to support the place her brother has loved for decades. And has treated him so well, with all the love and respect all people deserve."
