BIG UPDATE!! After working at Brookwood for the past 9 ½ years as a Day Citizen, Thomas moved out to Brookwood on April 1 as a Resident in the Follett House! He was so excited about the move and the transition has been seamless. The Follett house staff of Jason, John and Doug along with both Mayra A. and Mayra C. have taken such good care of him and he seems so happy. We have gone out to see him several times and have brought him home for a few weekends. He is always happy to see us but even happier when we tell him goodbye. Thomas seems to really enjoy his new housemates and is living his best life! Another great benefit is he walks every day to and from his work at the Greenhouses instead of commuting by car and bus over an hour and a half each way. His feeling of independence as he walks to work appears to bring him great joy. We feel very fortunate that Brookwood is there for Thomas and our family.
